27.1.17  Class 4/5 celebrate Chinese New Year The Year of the Rooster!

We celebrated Chinese New Year in so many wonderful ways: we decorated orange trees, made lanterns and made  door gods before creating a colourful decoration which stretched right across our hall. Doesn't it look beautiful?

We acted out the traditional story of Nian the dragon (making a lot of noise to scare him away from our village!) and learned some Chinese dance moves.

We all dressed up in traditional Chinese costume and took part in a dragon dance, before sitting around a Chinese welcome table and drinking jasmine tea. Our wonderful day ended up with a chopsticks game. Wow! What a fantastic experience. Thanks to Aly Greenway

新年快乐 "Happy new year!"

Wc 7.9.16  MAD SCIENCE Electricity and Forensic CSI Day

We have had an exciting start to the new school year with our Forensic Science CSI and Electricity enrichment day.

Chemical Charlie and DNA David kept us entertained all day with their workshops and practical activities.

We learned all about static and current electricity and made electrical circuits with alarm bells and fans. We also made our own mini robots! DNA extraction was great fun and we learned how the police use forensics to solve crimes. Come and look in our research enquiry books to find out what else we have been learning.
