This Weeks News & other AMAZING things we've been Up2 this week!

W/C 5th September 2016

WOW!!! What a morning we have had already and it's only lunch time! DNA David from Mad Science has really helped our topic take off by delivering an amazing CSI and DNA skills session to half of the children from year 3, 4 and 5! The children were immersed in DNA extraction, finger print analysis and using different chemicals to 'crack a crime'!! It was amazing! We are so excited for this afternoon when Chemical Charlie will be kicking off our electricity topic!

Well... the afternoon didn't let us down either! Mad Science have spoiled us today with an afternoon filled with learning enrichment! All of the children in classes 3, 4 and 5 learned all about Electricity, different types of electricity, the dangers and how to create electricity! This will be incredibly beneficial when we begin our science unit of learning this term! Please check out all of the photos below and ask your children as many questions as possible!! THANK YOU MAD SCIENCE !! laugh

Condover!! I think if you ask any of the children, they would all agree we had an absolutely fantastic time! They all took home a massive bag full of new skills and adventure stories! Here are some of our stories below! Massive well done to George Flowers for facing his fears on many occasions this week- although I could mention any of the year 4 and 5 children!

W/C 25th April

We kicked off our Olympics topic with an exhilarating  carnival day! With Samba dancing, Capoeira, art and a carnival display, it was a fantastic way to start off our Olympic celebrations. We have been learning all about Rio and the fascinating country of Brazil! Stay tuned for more Olympic news!

As Fairtrade Fortnight begins, Class 3/4 were set some Fairtrade Extra Missions for homework. Some very keen children have already brought in their fantastic TAKE CARE missions including Thomas Christopher in Class 3 who challenged himself to stand up in front of the class and present his work! Well done Thomas- I can't wait to see everyone's effort throughout the week!

What a week of news (literally)!! Due to our amazing 'Coats for Syria' appeal, orchestrated by our dedicated pupil parliament, not only were Notts TV here this week, but also the BBC and ITV. The MP's from pupil parliament (including our very own Ollie Nicholson) spoke very well when interviewed by the reporters and really showed off our wonderful take care school! Watch the Notts TV and BBC interviews online!

We have had a really busy week so far!!
Lizzy Stratton (a lunchtime supervisor and parent of a past pupil) kindly allowed us a peek into her life as a VIKING!! She brought in hundreds of authentic Viking artefacts from all different walks of life including; Viking warrior armour, clothing, kitchen utensils, soap, shoes, jewellery and games! It was an amazing afternoon! And once again, we will feature in the Bingham Advertiser for the amazing things we do in Archbishop Cranmer! Thanks so much Lizzy!
