At Archbishop Cranmer Primary Academy, we are committed to maintaining a safe, secure and well-managed environment for all pupils, staff and visitors. We take a proactive approach to health and safety, ensuring that systems are consistently applied and reviewed.
We follow the Aspire Multi Academy Trust Health and Safety Policy and work closely with the Local Authority to ensure compliance with statutory responsibilities.
Site Security
Our school site is secure, with controlled access to the building and clear procedures for entry and exit. All visitors are required to report to the school office on arrival and wear identification whilst on site.
The whole school community plays a role in maintaining a safe environment, and any concerns should be reported to the school office.
First Aid and Medical Needs
We have trained first-aiders, including staff with paediatric first aid qualifications. First aid provision is available throughout the school day, and pupils are cared for with sensitivity and professionalism.
Parents and carers are informed where appropriate, and in the event of a serious incident, emergency services will be contacted immediately.
Further information can be found in our Medical Conditions and Intimate Care policies.
Visitors
All visitors are expected to follow our safeguarding and health and safety procedures. This includes signing in on arrival and adhering to guidance provided by staff.
Visitors without appropriate clearance are supervised at all times.
Educational Visits
Educational visits are carefully planned to ensure pupils can learn beyond the classroom safely. All visits are risk assessed and approved in line with Local Authority guidance using the Evolve system.
Emergency Procedures
We have clear procedures in place for responding to emergencies, including fire and lockdown situations. These are practised regularly to ensure staff and pupils know how to respond safely.
