At Archbishop Cranmer Church of England Primary Academy, our Christian vision, ‘Striving for life in all its fullness’(John 10:10), inspires us to live out our values in everything we do.
Guided by the words of Psalm 90:17, ‘Establish the work of our hands’, we work together to make our school a place where everyone feels valued, supported and encouraged to flourish.
Our six Christian values are Kindness, Courage, Responsibility, Respect, Thankfulness and Trust, all underpinned by our core value of Love.
Through our Take Care ethos, we encourage children to demonstrate these values in their relationships, choices and everyday actions.
Our Christian Value Awards celebrate children who demonstrate our Christian values through their actions, attitudes and the way they treat others.
Anyone within our school community can nominate a pupil for an award, including fellow pupils, teachers, teaching partners, midday supervisors and visitors.
Nominations are shared with our Ministers for Christian Distinctiveness, who take responsibility for presenting the Christian Value Award fish during our weekly Gold Book celebration assemblies.
Children are encouraged to demonstrate all six Christian values throughout the academic year, collecting a fish award for each value they are recognised for. Those who achieve all six awards receive a special Take Care hand badge.
Alongside these individual awards, our Stars in the Jar provide an opportunity for classes to celebrate how they demonstrate our Christian values collectively. Through weekly reflection, children recognise the positive choices and actions that contribute to a caring, respectful and supportive class community.
We welcome nominations from everyone in our school community.
If you have noticed a child demonstrating one of our Christian values, whether through a small act of kindness, showing courage, taking responsibility or supporting others, we would love to hear about it.
You can complete our Christian Value Award nomination form here or visit the school office.
Our values can be demonstrated in many different ways, both through everyday choices and through actions that make a positive difference to others.
