Reverend Tim joined us to host our Year 6 Leavers' Service at school (as Church remains closed during Covid-19).He handed out the Bibles and bought the children their Y6 to Y7 transition books to help them on their way!

Year 3, 4 and 5 went on pilgrimage as they 'Time Travelled' to Southwell Minster for a day full of activities.

Year 1 and Year 2 explored the village, retracing the footsteps of Thomas Cranmer. They visited Cranmer Mound and walked to St John of Beverley Church in Whatton, where Thomas Cranmer worshipped hundreds of years ago

Celebrating our village Christmas Tree Festival at St Thomas' Church. Our own school tree was there amongst many others!

Seven years after their welcome service at St Thomas, we said farewell to our Year 6 children at their Leavers' Service. The children chose to sing The Lord is my Shepherd (thank you to Lucy's mum for piano accompaniment) and our school song We Being Many. Thank you to our governors for handing the children their Bibles and for handing out the awards. Please see the July newsletter for the winners of the Cranmer Cup Character and Integrity Award, the Hilary Mantel Outstanding Writing Award and the Maddison Profound Personal Development Award.

We enjoyed a special service in Church when we took part in Thy Kingdom Come joining in the global wave of prayer calling all Christians to pray between Ascension and Pentecost for more people to come to know Jesus Christ. Thank you to Mrs Wood and to our governor Dr Bullock for helping us with some of our activities.

Our Year 6 children had opportunity to look at differences between our church and St Oswald's in Ashbourne, Derbyshire.

We enjoyed a wonderful Easter Service, led by KS2 children, with all our parents and other members of the local community. Thank you to all the helpers who escorted our younger children through the village as part of their Easter Bonnet parade.

Our KS2 children visiting Padley Chapel in Derbyshire which we compared with our local church. We impressed the staff here with our knowledge of the British Monarchy.

Year 1 and 2 went to St Thomas' church to search for special artefacts and symbols of Christianity. They drew the things we found and wrote about why they were important.
Year 1 and 2 had an interesting morning at Nottingham Liberal Synagogue where they made some great comparisons between Christian and Jewish places of worship, as well as looking at some genuine artefacts and beautiful community pieces.

The whole school enjoyed our Christmas service in Church.
Key Stage 1 and Foundation returned to sing songs from our Nativity.
Everyone visited to look at the beautiful Christmas trees.
