Homework

At the start of each new maths unit a Busy Ant Parent Newsletter will be sent home explaining what we will be covering and this will include some suggested fun and practical activities to try with your child. This homework is optional but we would love to see what you have been up to if your child would like to bring into school some photographs of them in action.

This initial term is very much focussed on your child becoming settled in year one. As the year progresses if we feel your child would benefit from some additional support we will look to send a few sounds or words or support worksheets home.

Reading regularly with your child and to your child at home, whilst being hugely enjoyable is of great benefit to their development as fluent readers.

Any opportunity to write postcards, cards, thank you letters or shopping lists are also great real life examples of why we need to be able to write and is to be encouraged at home just as we do at school. A successful partnership between home and school is what we aim for to bring out the best in your children.
