  • SEND

At Archbishop Cranmer CE Academy, we are committed to ensuring that every child is supported to achieve their full potential. We value all pupils equally and strive to provide an inclusive environment where children feel safe, supported and able to succeed.

We recognise that children learn in different ways and at different rates. Our approach is to identify needs early and provide the right support at the right time.

    Our Approach to SEND

We follow a graduated approach to supporting pupils with SEND, in line with the SEND Code of Practice (2015):

    • High-quality teaching for all pupils
    • Additional support and targeted interventions, where needed
    • Specialist support for pupils with more complex needs

Teachers are responsible for the progress and development of all pupils in their class, including those with SEND.

    Where appropriate, support may include:

    • adapted teaching approaches
    • small group or individual interventions
    • support from trained staff
    • advice from external professionals

    Working with Parents and Carers

We work in close partnership with parents and carers. If your child has SEND, you will be:

    • kept informed of their progress
    • invited to review meetings
    • involved in planning next steps

We believe that strong communication between home and school is key to ensuring the best outcomes for children.

Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)

A small number of pupils may require an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). These plans are developed in partnership with families and professionals to provide additional support for children with more complex needs.
