Archbishop Cranmer Academy prides itself on its strong sense of community.

Lifelong friendships are formed here and we are always delighted to welcome former pupils and families back into school.

We enjoy hearing about the achievements and experiences of our past pupils and are proud to see the many different paths they follow beyond Archbishop Cranmer Academy.

    Staying Connected

Many former pupils return to support the school through work experience, volunteering, performances, sporting activities and community events. Their visits provide inspiration for our current pupils and reflect the lasting connection many families continue to have with our school community.

    Cranmer Cup and Leavers’ Traditions

Previous winners of our end of year 6 award, The Cranmer Cup for Character and Integrity, return to our Year 6 Leavers’ Service to speak to pupils and parents in Church before presenting awards to the new recipient. Their reflections on secondary school, leadership and personal achievement continue to inspire our pupils as they prepare for the next stage of their education.

    Academic Excellence and Achievement

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of former pupil Frankie Gray, who was awarded “Top in the World” in Cambridge International AS Level Marine Science in the November 2025 examination series.

This prestigious award recognises the highest achieving student globally in the subject, across more than 10,000 Cambridge schools worldwide. Frankie’s exceptional success reflects her dedication, academic excellence and love of learning.

Frankie attended Archbishop Cranmer before moving to New Zealand, and we were delighted to hear of her remarkable achievement. We are immensely proud to see former pupils continuing to flourish and achieve success on an international stage.

    Creative and Performing Arts

Aiden returned to us from his secondary school, and we enjoyed his impressive violin performance. Aiden started lessons whilst at primary school and now plays at a high level. Afterwards, he held a question and answer session with our Year 6 children. Click here to listen to his performance.

    Work Experience and Volunteering

Each year we welcome former pupils back to Archbishop Cranmer to support the school through work experience placements and volunteering opportunities.

Former pupils have supported PE lessons, sports clubs, performances and classroom activities while developing valuable experience for future careers. Several pupils have shared that their time back at ABCA has inspired them to pursue careers in teaching, coaching and working with young people.

    Sporting Successes

We are proud of the sporting achievements of many of our former pupils. Ex-pupils Lola and Evie have both been recognised for their success in netball, while former members of our table tennis club progressed to the English Schools National Championships representing their secondary school.

Hannah also achieved success representing the England Youth Squad in table tennis, continuing the strong sporting foundations developed during her time at Archbishop Cranmer Academy.

    Community Connections

Our alumni continue to contribute to the wider life of the school community through events, performances and celebrations. Former pupils and families regularly return to support school traditions, including the Horticultural Show, performances and community events.

These lasting relationships reflect the strong sense of belonging and community that remains at the heart of Archbishop Cranmer Academy.
