  • Mental Health & Wellbeing

At Archbishop Cranmer CE Primary Academy, we are committed to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our pupils, staff and wider community.

Guided by our vision of ‘life in all its fullness’, we promote a culture where every child feels safe, valued and able to thrive.

    Our Approach

We take a whole-school approach to wellbeing, ensuring that support is proactive, consistent and responsive to need.

    This includes:

    • a safe and supportive environment with clear expectations
    • strong relationships between staff and pupils
    • teaching children to understand and manage their emotions
    • promoting confidence, resilience and self-worth
    • opportunities for reflection and calm within the school day

Wellbeing is embedded across school life, including through our curriculum, collective worship and wider enrichment opportunities.

    Supporting Pupils

Most children’s wellbeing is supported through our inclusive classroom practice and strong pastoral care.

Where additional support is needed, this may include:

    • targeted pastoral support
    • nurture provision
    • support from trained Emotional Literacy Support Assistants (ELSAs)
    • adjustments to routines or environments

For pupils with more complex needs, we work with external professionals to ensure the right support is in place.

    Working with Families

We work closely with parents and carers to support children’s wellbeing. If you have any concerns, we encourage you to speak to your child’s class teacher in the first instance.
