The Archbishop Cranmer Marathon Challenge
This year we are challenging the pupils of Archbishop Cranmer to run not one, not two, but three marathons!
Every class will have the opportunity to run around the school sports field every day as part of the Daily Mile Challenge. In Key Stage 1, each class has a chart to keep track of their progress. In Key Stage 2, each child has a chart to keep track of their progress.
Key stage 1/Foundation Mini Marathon:
Half mini marathon (10km = 30 laps)
Full mini marathon (20km = 60 laps)
1km = 3 laps of the school field (children should aim for 1-3 laps a day)
Key Stage 2 Marathon:
Half marathon (13 miles = 65 laps)
Full marathon (26 miles = 130 laps)
1 mile = 5 laps of the school field (children should aim for 3-5 laps a day
Certificates and prizes will be presented to everyone who has achieved the half marathon/mini marathon and full marathon/mini marathon.
Children who run one marathon will be awarded with a green rosette.
Children who run two marathons will be awarded with a blue rosette.
Children who run three marathons will be awarded with a purple rosette.
So get your trainers on, and let’s get running (or walking, or skipping…!!)
