Uniform
Our Uniform
Here at Archbishop Cranmer we are extremely proud of our school identity and believe the wearing of a school uniform gives an immediate sense of belonging to our school community. The high standard we set in appearance is a signal to everyone of our expectations in effort, work and behaviour. The children at Archbishop Cranmer are all proud to wear their uniform. Please read our uniform policy for more information.

How to Order
Non-logoed items can be purchased from most supermarkets and many high street stores. Logoed uniform is available to purchase online through the Price and Buckland website https://www.pbuniform-online.co.uk/archbishopcranmer Price and Buckland items offer excellent value for money and are made from hard wearing, machine washable fabrics, specially decorated with our school logo.
We also hold termly pre-loved uniform sales, which help all families get school uniform at a bargain price and creates a culture of reuse and mend, stopping perfectly useable items of clothing going into landfill.
Jewellery, Hair Ornaments, Make-up and nail varnish
For health and safety reasons, we do not allow children to wear jewellery. The exception to this rule are small objects of religious significance or stud earrings.
Children are required to remove any items during PE lessons to prevent them from causing injury. Your child’s class teacher will advise you when PE lessons are to take place. Please note: Teachers are not permitted to remove earrings.
If ears are to be pierced it would be ideal to do this at the start of the summer holidays to give them six weeks to settle so they are then ready to remove for PE lessons from September.Where this cannot happen one alternative is that the earrings can be covered with tape by the pupil, or the parent before coming to school. However it is still the responsibility of the member of staff leading the lesson to ensure that the tape is doing the job intended, and then to assess if this is sufficient precaution to allow the pupil to take part, either fully or partially in the planned lesson.
Hair bands, ribbons/bows or ‘scrunchies’ should be plain and either red, white, or black. Hair bands should not have objects attached to them such as flowers.
Make up and nail varnish should not be worn to school unless for an out of school hours function, for example a school disco.
Pupils are free to wear a headscarf or other hair coverings for religious reasons at school if they wish to. These must however be plain and either white, red or black. Headscarves of the type which drape to shoulder length or just below are acceptable. Longer headscarves are not permitted for safety reasons.
Footwear
For health and safety reasons, we do not allow pupils to wear shoes with platform soles, Heelys or high heels.
All pupils are required to wear flat, plain black shoes without logos. These should be closed in with no toes visible. Sandals and flip-flops are not permitted due to health and safety reasons.
If boots are worn these should also be flat and plain black.
