Times Tables
Times Tables
Children have unique login details for Timestables.co.uk (they can be found on the back of their reading records).
Timestables.co.uk is an online resource where you can practise different times tables interactively with free multiplication games and activities. Children can earn medals and diplomas as they work through the following challenges:
- View, read aloud and repeat. To get familiar with the table.
- Fill in your times tables answers in sequence and check if you got them all right.
- Drag the correct answers to the questions.
- Fill in your answers for the mixed questions and check if you got them all right.
- Multiple choice questions will help you to improve by looking at the questions in a different way.
- Proof your knowledge and get the diploma
Pupils will have opportunity to practise their times tables every day at school, however we advise children to exercise at home daily for 15 minutes for maximum result.
The Multiplication Tables Check is a key stage 2 assessment to be taken by pupils at the end of year 4, from the 2019 / 2020 academic year onwards. With this check there are asked 25 questions on the times tables 2 to 12.
The purpose of the MTC is to determine whether pupils can recall their times tables fluently, which is essential for future success in mathematics. It will help schools to identify pupils who have not yet mastered their times tables, so that additional support can be provided.
