Alumni

Archbishop Cranmer Academy prides itself on its strong sense of community. Lifelong friendships are formed at the school gates and we are thrilled that so many of our former students and their families come back and visit us.

We watch with interest the paths that our past pupils follow after they have left us and we always enjoy hearing about their experiences and achievements when they come back and see us.

To find out how to stay involved please contact the school office  office@archbishopcranmer.notts.sch.uk or call us on 01949850627

Past Pupil News

Every year we welcome past students back in to school to support them for their work experience program whilst at secondary school. We think this is a great opportunity for them to return and deliver inspiration to current students.

Previous winners of our Hilary Mantel Creative Writing Award, our Cranmer Cup for Character and Integrity  and our Maddison Trophy for Profound Personal Development,  also return to our Year 6 Leavers' service to 'hand over' to the new recipients and share experiences about how being an Archbishop Cranmer cup winner has inspired and motivated them.

2023 - 2024

Ex-students Emma and Amelia returned to school as judges for the art and craft category of our traditional Horticultural Show. They are both off to university this year to study music and medicine. We will look forward to hearing about how they get on.

We were also delighted to welcome back parents of ex-students, Mr and Mrs Tomlinson, who support us each year with our Horticultural Show and judged the hanging basket category.

Last year's Cranmer Cup winner, Lewis, returned this summer to deliver a speech to parents and students in Church, and hand over the award to this year's winner, Eva.It was wonderful to hear about Lewis' achievements since he left our school.

Ex-student Jess has taken the initiative to upskill ready for her future career and is currently helping out at table tennis club and other sports activities. Jess is skilled in lots of different  sports, all of which she first experienced at Archbishop Cranmer, and the children are learning from her expertise.

Ex-students Lola and Evie have been recognised for their netball performances and are both playing for the Bingham team. We were delighted to hear about your successes - especially after both being members of our school netball club.

2019-2020

  • Past pupil Joe,  volunteers with us every week to help with PE and Games. Since working with us he has decided he would like to pursue a career as a teacher.
  • Since We received an email from author Julie Malone who organises the UK Young Writer competition which our students enter each year. she refers to one of our ex-students, Aiden who we encouraged to enter this competition whilst at ABC. It is great to hear of his continued success. She wrote: I was asked by one of our poetry finalists if I could arrange an event where our young poets could read their own entries. This took place a couple of weeks ago. I invited some of our poets over the past couple of years ........... Aidan John participated and he did really well. It was good to see him again.

  • We were very proud to hear that 2 of our ex-students and members of our table tennis club, reached the secondary school National Finals in January 2020 and played in the English Schools National Championships. They represented Toot Hill (our feeder school) continuing the table tennis they started at Archbishop Cranmer.

  • Aiden returned to us from his secondary school to perform to parents and children in Gold book assembly and we all enjoyed his impressive violin performance. Aiden started lessons whilst at primary school and now plays at a high level. Afterwards, he held a question and answer session with our Year 6 children. Click here to listen to his performance.
  • In October we welcomed three ex students who joined us for a week of 'work experience' in Key Stage 1.  They were all positive role models for our younger children and we appreciated their help very much.
  • Evie came back to visit us after she had moved to secondary school and supported us by helping with the lights and sound system at our Year 6 Summer Performance.
  • Secondary school students and ex-pupils, Freya, Alexander and Charlotte attended our Leavers Service. Freya spoke eloquently to the congregation about her achievements since leaving Archbishop Cranmer and how these were built upon her successes here.
